Our Bunun Friend: Chief High Mountain Guide
Been a Bunun
hunter since 6 years old, Chief Anu was certified by the nature way before the government.
Bunun people are one of the nine
officially recognized indigenous tribes in Taiwan. They live in the high mountains
and are famous for their hunting skills.
Retired from Taiwan (R.O.C) army special force, Chief Anu has been a high
mountain guide for nearly 10 years. He is a genuine, reliable, and well-liked
jokester. As a chief of a local Bunun tribe, Anu is also in charge of other
local arrangements.

2015 Project: Xien – Wu elementary
school
Located in a
high mountain tribe, Xien-Wu is a cute, tiny elementary school for tribe kids aged
from 6 to 12. In general, there are about 10 – 12 kids in total, 2 per class on
average. Unlike city kids, kids in the mountains have the nature and wilderness
as their playground. Yet they are also curious and excited about the culture
from the outside world. We would like to
provide them opportunities to explore and experience, such as surfing,
skateboarding, day trips or YOU. Please contact us if you would like to
spend a few hours with kids, sharing your stories or knowledge. It could be
anything such as English, art, music, craft and etc.
